Philip Whyte,
Senior Research Fellow

Philip Whyte joined the CER as a Senior Research Fellow in September 2007. He previously worked as an analyst at the Economist Intelligence Unit and the Bank of England.

He has written on numerous aspects of European politics and economics, including enlargement, foreign policy, fiscal and monetary policy in the euro area, the EU budget and foreign direct investment.

Philip holds an MSc (Econ) and a BSc (Econ) from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He speaks fluent French and rudimentary German.

Main areas of expertise: Fiscal and monetary policy, microeconomic reform and the EU budget.
