Philip Whyte
Biography
Philip Whyte is chief economist at the Centre for European Reform. He was educated at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris ('Sciences Po') and the London School of Economic and Political Science. After working at the Bank of England and the Economist Intelligence Unit, he joined the CER in September 2007.
Philip has written on numerous aspects of European politics and economics. His areas of interest include the political economy of the eurozone, fiscal and monetary policy, supply-side reforms in the EU, innovation policy, the transatlantic economic relationship, international trade, financial regulation, and policy towards sovereign wealth funds.
He has published opinion pieces in numerous newspapers, including the Financial Times, the International Herald Tribune, the Wall Street Journal, the Times, the Guardian, Handelsblatt and
Tageszeitung.
